One in four females will be sexually abused in one way or another before they reach the age of 18. Most are abused by someone that they know and should have been able to trust. Many are abused by family members.

The effects of childhood sexual abuse can last for many years until the feelings are dealt with.

Although the effects of abuse on female survivors and male survivors are similar in may ways there are also some differences.
